Think of summer as a marathon race, one of endurance for your air conditioning system.  Like all marathoners, your system can run only so many races before calling it quits.

Has that time come for your AC system?  Maybe, maybe not.  But if you’re noticing any of the following warning signs, you’d be doing yourself a favor to have your system checked out by Nero Air Conditioning & Heating:

Should I Repair or Replace My AC System

  • Sudden surges in your electricity bill
  • Hot and cold spots throughout your home
  • Signs of leakage on or around your outdoor unit
  • Noisy operation
  • The need to lower the thermostat more than once to get just the right temperature
  • The system runs non-stop, or at least more frequently than usual

System age is another indicator of productivity.  Consider, for example, that most older AC systems have an average lifespan of 12 – 15 years.  Is yours nearing, within, or beyond that range?  If so, chances are it’s operating at no better than 60% of its original energy efficiency.  If that’s the case, energy savings will cover the cost of a replacement system in as little as a few years.

Here’s what we suggest.  If your AC system is exhibiting any of the warning signs listed above, contact Nero so we can professionally troubleshoot the problem to see exactly what’s going on.  It if makes sense to clean or repair it, that’s what we’ll recommend.  If we think system replacement is the right move, that’s what we’ll recommend.  Either way, you’ll wind up with improved indoor comfort and convenience…a Nero trademark.
